CRISTIANO RONALDO’s agent Jorge Mendes is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a transfer for the Real Madrid star, according to reports in Spain.
Cristiano Ronaldo is having an off season at Real Madrid by his high standards and has scored just four La Liga goals this term.
The 32-year-old is said to be unsettled at the Bernabeu and is unhappy with Real’s reluctance to offer him an improved deal.
The Portugal international is said to be demanding better terms that would see him equal Neymar’s earnings – should the Brazilian arrive in the summer.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Ronaldo has set the wheels in motion for a move to Paris Saint-Germain in case Neymar does come to the Bernabeu and steals his thunder.
The report says the former Manchester United man has been in secret contact with PSG for weeks regarding a move.
And Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is said to have begun talks with the Ligue 1 giants which are progressing quickly.
PSG are reportedly not keen to lose Neymar after just one season, however, if he does attempt to force through a move, Ronaldo would be a viable replacement.
Don Balon claim no decisions will be made over the futures of either player until after the World Cup.
Ronaldo is under contract at the Bernabeu until 2021, having agreed a new deal in December 2016.
And Zinedine Zidane admitted last month he hopes the Portuguese will remain at the club for the remainder of his career, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.
“He’s the club’s history and I hope he’s here until he retires doing what he does,” Zidane said.
“I see Cristiano here forever. There’s always the same debate, if Cristiano is happy or not here.
“But everyone wants him at Real Madrid and we want that.”
