Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, Casemiro and Dani Carvajal all remain unavailable for Saturday’s La Liga game at home to Sevilla after appeals against their suspensions were rejected by disciplinary authorities on Tuesday.
All three players picked up cards during Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Athletic Bilbao. Ramos extended his club record to 24 red cards, also setting a new La Liga mark of 19 sendings off, via two bookings for jumping with an arm raised against Athletic’s Raul Garcia and Aritz Aduriz.
Casemiro’s fifth yellow card of 2017-18 also came after he used his arm during an aerial challenge with Aduriz, while Carvajal triggered his automatic one-match ban for accumulation when he was booked for taking out Athletic substitute Inigo Cordoba as the home side pressed for a late winner.
The verdicts came at a meeting of the Royal Spanish Football Federation’s appeals committee, which was brought forward 24 hours as Wednesday is a public holiday in Spain.
